Hotel The Designers DDP

The Bedroom was huge. Very art deco with nice view from the bedroom. Location was not ideal as there is nothing to eat around the hotel (especially when you arrived late at night). There is a few convenience store but not really proper meal. We had a long walk around to try and find food but unfortunately was not lucky as everywhere was closed except for the convenience store.

We didn't really like the location as it's not central enough and also nothing to eat around the hotel late at night as everything is closed. We also had an incident where the Cleaning staff threw away our cake and snacks that we brought with us. We packed them away in a plastic bag and put them together with a few other things on the counter and to our surprise, when we came back to our room, they were gone. They also opened my medicine that I had together with the plastic bag (for god knows what reasons!). We called for the Manager on shift and he called the cleaning team and they acknowledged they threw away our food. It was not great as they are not allowed to touch the client's things, let alone throw them away unless the client put it in the bin. Staffs not very friendly/welcoming compared to other hotels we've been in Korea.

I was very positively surprised by the hotel. The room was large, bright, clean. Everything you could wish for as a single traveler. The bathroom was also great, a bathtub and a heated toilet. Honestly, the reviews of other travelers were not so great, so I was a bit unsure whether I should book this hotel. But I was very happy with my decision. You can indicate at the front desk if you want the room to be cleaned. That also worked out great. Unfortunately, they don't speak very good English but with Google Translate the communication worked out. The location is also good. About 20min walk from Myeongdong and not far from Dongdaemun Design Plaza and good metro train connections.Unfortunately, there was not really a breakfast but I can highly recommend the French bakery "Tous les jours" just around the corner. I've traveled a lot myself and put a lot of emphasis on cleanliness. Overall, it was a great stay and I have nothing to criticize.

Unfortunately the english communication at the front desk was not so easy, but it worked out with Google Translate. Also there is no real breakfast offered, but right around the corner there is a great french bakery which I can really recommend.

The location of this property is good. It is close the public transportation and walking distance to the DDP.

The room we stayed in was extremely dirty. It appeared to have not been properly cleaned in quite some time. Excessive mildew and soap scum on the tiles and dust throughout the room. There was hair in our bed from from past guests. It was impossible to feel comfortable.

The location here was good only a little trip into the city, the service of the staff were great. Also the 24 hour service.

The room was spacious, views were nice. Staff was friendly.

Lobby had no sitting/ waiting area.

The location near the subway is very useful. The beds are comfortable.

Cleaning staff only puts the bed sheet back in place, no real cleaning done. Lack of storage.

i’m staying in this hotel for 2-3 and 3-5 nights, but doesn’t give water every day, so have to get your own water for the morning , asked to clean up the room, but didn’t leave hotel tooth brush

the bathroom is kinda disgusting… the water will leak on the floor while showering, and the wall and floor are dirty…(it should be white but it’s yellow…)also. the front desk service is unstable, some are friendly and helpful, some are cold & bad at English

I liked that the hotel is very close to the metro station and to many restaurants and shops. The staff doesn’t speak English very well but anyway they did their best to help us and we appreciate the effort.

The rooms are extremely small. We struggle to open our luggages. The bathroom in certain room is “open” bath. That means that there is not bathroom in the room. Just a bath. So there is no privacy when you shower. Also the WC is separated by the room only by a glass wall. In the morning and late evening the hotel is very noisy. You can literally hear everything happened in the next rooms or in the hallway.

The location is good. The room is big enough for one person. maybe tiny for two people. the staff was very kind, when i was asking for info or support- but only one person was speaking english.

They do not speak very good English. Also the check out was agreed to be at 1pm and they started to call at 10.40 am asking for the check out. that was not nice. The cleaning of the bathroom was not super good. the left inside a roll of toilet paper almost over ( meaning that it was already touched by other people)

in the first room we found black hair on top of blanket and asked for another room. in new room i had feeling that floor was not clean well with water. Also the toilet was not clean enough

The beds here are super comfy and the location is great! Especially when it comes to walking to the DDP building that is located further down the road and a left turn~!

I've stayed here multiple times, however, every time I stay here there is always hair in unfavourable places. Also, during my recent stay there were even another person's forgotten makeup packages dropped and left behind the toilet seat. A shame.

Good Location and comfortable beds

The water pressure was way to low to fill the bathtub, water was not hot enough. Also the room’s white interior was not as clean or white as it should have been

CONS:- The walls are so thin that I was able to clearly hear couples on both sides of the room doing what couples are known to do. I didn’t complain about this since 1) there’s not much management can do about the already created thin walls, 2) it’s natural for couples to enjoy themselves at a hotel, and 3) it’s on me for not knowing that this hotel is more than likely for couples, and not so much for family with children and single travelers like me (unless you don’t mind)- You can hear loud traffic and construction throughout the day and night (even with the window closed)- The white theme for a room is a great idea; however, the downside is that it requires high maintenance, which is more than likely why most hotels don’t choose this color. So if the white floor and any furniture gets dirty or damaged, it stands out much more than any other color (just something to keep in mind).
